Retail projects range in size from less than one (1) acre to several hundred acres of development or redevelopment. Typically, retail developments consist of multi-users such as big box retailers, grocery stores, minor anchors, boutiques and restaurants.
Reshaping a site’s topographic profile is one of the major civil engineering challenges associated with retail developments. Our firm has developed construction drawings for shopping centers accommodating nearly one hundred (100) feet of difference in vertical elevation. We work closely with the project architect and the contractor to achieve store front and parking lot elevations that provide ease of circulation and compliance with ADA requirements. Utility, storm drainage and sanitary sewer designs are prepared efficiently and economically by creating a team approach with the utility companies, governmental agencies and the site’s general contractor.
